New Lightborn Album (8/29/06) Work on Lightborn's anticipated sophmore release has begun. The album will feature Wu Tang Clan's Killah Priest and iLLumadel along with some native Philly surprise guests. The ambitious project is slated to have 21 tracks and scheduled for an early 2007 release date.

Lightborn "Angel of Def" released on Level 3 Rhino Alert Records (7/7/2004) Philadelphia based MC/DJ LIghtborn has signed with Level 3 Rhino Alert Records for an upcoming release tentatively titled "Angel of Def". Lightborn has been a fixture in the punk and hip hop underground community for the past ten years since he was in the emo hardcore band "Outbound" in high school. Lightborn is one third of the True Wordsmiths crew, formerly "Kidhood" whose demo cd in the late nineties turned heads due to the intricate, skilled rhyming and fresh sound. Level 3 is hoping the signing will be mutually beneficial, as the projected success of his debut cd will bring more attention and support for the Philly Indie Label, which has never had a hip hop act.
